Invitation for a week of cultural activities on the English Riviera

Dear Twinners,

From the 4th & 11th September 2004 we will be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the twinning between Strasbourg and Leicester in and around the city of Portsmouth on the English Riviera and you are all cordially invited to join us.

Programme:

• Visit to Winchester Cathedral
• Day trip to the Isle of Wight with a visit to Queen Victoria's country house
• Day trip to the New Forest and Buckler's Hard, a typical village of the region
• Tour of the Naval Dockyard and associated Museums
• Visit to the Amberley Working Museum
• Visit to an industrial Museum
• Entertainment in the evenings

Accommodation: the accommodation will be at the University in the halls of residence. The majority of our guests will be in single rooms, although there are 25 double Rooms available. All rooms have their own showers, WC etc with tea and coffee making facilities as well as a telephone. The accommodation has disabled access and a lift to all floors

Cost : £400 sterling, this includes all the excursions, food accommodation, entry to all the attractions and tips.

Registration of Interest: Places are limited and we would appreciate an early indication of the number of people interested by the end of January. Deposits of £100 per person are required by the 14th February 2004 as we have to confirm the booking with the University.

Einladung für eine Woche der kulturellen Tätigkeiten an der englischen Riviera

Lieber Jumeleure,

Vom  4.-11. September 2004 werden wir den 20. Jahrestag der Partnerschaft zwischen Straßburg  und Leicester feiern und haben dafür ein Treffen in  Portsmouth, an der englischen Riviera, organisiert, zu dem wir Sie herzlich eingeladen.

Programm:

• Besuch der Winchesterkathedrale
• Tagesreise zur Insel von Wight mit einem Besuch des Landhauses Königin Victorias
• Tagesreise zum "Neuen Wald" und zu "Bucklers Hart", einem typischen Dorf der Region
• Tour zum Marinedockyard und den dazugehörigen Museen
• Besuch des "Arbeitsmuseum Amberley"
• Besuch eines "Industrie Museums"
• Unterhaltung an den Abenden

Unterbringung: die Unterbringung erfolgt im Studentenwohnheim der Universität. Die Mehrheit unserer Gäste sind in Einzelzimmern untergebracht, obgleich es auch 25 Doppelzimmer gibt. Alle Räume haben eigene Duschen, WC usw. mit Zubereitungsmöglichkeiten für Tee und Kaffee,  sowie ein Telefon. Die Unterbringung ist behindertengerecht mit einem Lift in alle Etagen

Kosten: Sterling £400 (ca. 575,- €), dieses umfasst alle Ausflüge, Verpflegung, Eintrittsgelder und Trinkgeld.

Anmeldung: Die Anzahl der Plätze ist  begrenzt und wir würden daher eine frühe Anmeldung (bis Ende Januar) der Teilnehmer schätzen, die   interessiert sind. Anzahlungen von £100 (ca. 150,- €) pro Person werden bis zum 14. Februar 2004 angefordert, da wir die Buchung bei der Universität bestätigen müssen.
